LOD groups messed up after setting up occlusion culling

Hello, I'm experiencing a bug with the Unity LOD system (Unity 2020.1.1f1). I'm working on a project using "I.L. Ranch - High City" assets to build a level. The assets have LOD groups. Everything was working fine until I setup occlusion culling in the scene. Since then, the LOD groups are not working properly. Only after building the scene, some of the meshes, when switching to their lower LOD level get culled, before they are actually at the "culling distance". I deleted the occlusion data, reimported the package, and the problem still persists. Anyone else experiencing this bug? Any help is greatly appreciated! thanks.
