Building through Android Studio

Hello. Could someone give me walkthrough on how to replicate the default Android building process using Android Studio? I'm talking about checking "Google Android Project" in the Build Settings, opening the result in Android Studio, and then building a .apk. I need to make a small change to the UnityPlayerNativeActivity (add the "onNewIntent" function to handle another intent coming in while the app is running. However, I can't even seem to build the same .apk (without any changes) that I get by directly building in Unity. I managed so get through the SDK setup (though I have no idea if I did that correctly), but when I do "Build/Make Project", I get an .apk with size 26MB instead of the 11MB I usually get. And when I try to run that on my device, I get "Unfortunately, [my app] has stopped". I also can't run it from Android Studio, because it won't accept the generated (and unaltered) UnityPlayerNativeActivity as the Activity to launch. It complains: "com.exhibbit.exhibbit.UnityPlayerNativeActivity is not an Activity subclass or alias", even though clearly that class inherits from NativeActivity. There's also a little red "i" on my UnityPlayerNativeActivity, but there's no errors in the class and I can't find any explanation for that symbol. I'd appreciate any help with this, as I'm not experienced in native Android development.
